Saucy Teacher? Surely not…

The Crone is notoriously crabid, but really a person would have to have a very hard heart not to be moved by this poem which the Crone received this morning from Gretel on a beautiful page decorated with hearts and flowers. Readers alarmed by the mention of sauciness–surely not something girls should learn from the mothers?–will be relieved to know that Gretel actually meant “secure”. Note the mention of “absation [obsession] with chairs” –out of the mouths of babes and sucklings…

Roses are red and so is your hair

Ms Lady you have an absation for chairs

You’re always nice

You make sure your kids are alright

You make me laugh you make me smile

You make me feel like your own child

There are so many things I could say and do

You made me love you as my own mother too

First I found that hard to do

But you made me feel comftorbale safe and saucier

What I’m trying to do is tell you this mother’s day that I love you
