Blarney Crone for the Bob Sled Team?

At the moment, Jenna McCorkell, a figure skater from Coleraine, is Northern Ireland’s sole representative at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. But following the Crone’s heroic workout today, she too should be on her way to Whistler. She began with the Nordic Combination-a challenging cross-country trek across the snowy terrain of Washington’s Dupont Circle, followed by some truly terrifying jumps from the mountainous piles of ice and salt found at every street corner. Then a day spent at skeleton-speed, together with a number of life-threatening head-banging moments. And finally the real endurance test–an hour-long drive to make it the 10 blocks home, stopping only  to help push a stranded taxi out of the middle of S street, and slaloming about in the snow, trying not to impede the progress of endless emergency vehicles on their way to rescue other stuck and skidding drivers. Based on her new found facility for winter sports, the Crone is sure that a call from Team NI will not be long in coming and is practicing her facial expression for the winners’ podium, and imagining the interview she will give to the Belfast Telegraph once the gold is firmly in her grasp.

Don’t know these songs? Check them out here–sadly these are not the best versions available but I fear Van doesn’t really “do” YouTube
