Good fences–fine. Tall trees? Not so much…-

I don’t know the people who bought the tumbledown house that stood between my house and the water, but I rejoiced when they chopped down the towering leylandii that surrounded their plot. Losing the trees nearly doubled my view of the Bay. My new neighbors then demolished the tumbledown and built a huge new house, but I could still see more water than ever before. This week, they planted new Leylandii. Goodbye water view.

Here, for the last time, is the view without the trees, supplemented by a shot of the Blarney Abode, a tasteful, right-sized dwelling for these parts.
