She’s not Bitter–much

Woke up to this from Doris:

“Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you  for organising what has been a pulsatingly exciting poetry competition. I apologise for being so tetchy towards the end. I was already fraught, even before the shambolic judging process. I promise you I am not litigious. My own efforts were all undone by a pathological inability to accept that Itchy Ankle doesn’t have alligators; I see that now. I shall print out the winners and put them up in the staff room of DBLW to remind me of the quality I will need to attain if I am to be on the poetry podium next year.”
