Haunted Houses at the Gettysburg Address

The Chesapeake Boys will come on Tuesday to fix the dryer but until then we must use the giant tumblers at the Itchy Ankle laundromat,  a social location second only to the Snug Harbor Inn.

Today, mid boil wash, I bumped into Danny, who is a sometime member of the Chesapeake crew and also a regular at the SHI. As he sorted his smalls we got chatting about the hoody he was wearing which bore the legend “Gettysburg Paranormal Association”

” A Halloween costume?” I inquired

“No–the only thing I had clean”

“Is it for real?” I asked

“Dunno” said Danny ” Can’t remember where I got it”

There are a lot of things Danny can’t remember, possibly due to his leisure habits which are best not listed here.

Back at the computer I googled the GPA and, what do you know, Gettysburg is a very ghostly address. So frequent are spooky sightings, that the town runs nightly tours. Abe, who famously met his end in Washington, is not among the apparitions, but the town is positively heaving with the hants of civil war dead.

All of Danny’s shirts have writing on them and so one could learn a lot from his dirty linen. In Itchy Ankle, who needs a library when we’ve got the laundromat.
