Leading from the Digital Edge

Humans have always liked to share their views, get involved, meddle and kvetch–and as recent wikileaks events have shown, now there’s no stopping them.

I’m all for it. In real life I am always desperate to be involved in other people’s business and in the virtual world, I can be, thanks to facebook, twitter (follow me @blarneycrone) and my Blarney Crone hotline to Doris Brazil.

But if you are Hillary Clinton (love her–but she is a bit of a command/control freak) or a member of board of directors or C-suite in a big company, you often wish you could keep some noses out of your business. But there are times too when inviting outsiders to have their say, air their views and share their tuppence worth might work out fabulously well. http://blog.nacdonline.org/2010/12/technology-democracy-and-the-end-of-top-down-leadership/
