All because the Lady loves Milk Tray

I’ll admit it: I’m upset. The reason? I have just learned that Cadbury’s chocolate are offering to send a bumper pack of their new Bliss bars to a DC-based blogger who is NOT ME. I learned this while randomly surfing the blogosphere but it has hit horribly close to home.

Regular readers of this blog, will know that the Crone not only sings the praises of Cadbury’s (one of today’s great tastes) but has run quizzes, showcased vintage ads and even worked in mentions of more obscure product lines–where else on the web would you see a plug for Cadbury’s mini rolls (making Britain smile since 1962)?

Despite a lifetime’s loyalty to Fruit and Nut, Chocolate Buttons, Flakes and Cadbury’s Creme Eggs, the Crone has yet to hear from anyone at the chocolate factory whereas it seems any old American Johnny Come Lately can score a box of Bliss. Harrumph I say. Where is the Milk Tray man when he’s needed? If I had a box of chocolate fingers, I’d wave two of them in the air.

  1. I agree that this is a deep, stinging injustice. As a deep lover of Cadbury Dairy Milk and of course the infamous Creme Eggs, my sympathies!

  2. Chris Turner says:

Oh Liz, this made me laugh, especially the image of you holding up two chocolate fingers. If it helps at all, there is much disquiet around these parts following the takeover of dear old Cadbury’s by Kraft. There is a Cadbury factory of long standing at Keynsham, about 40 miles from us, which Kraft originally said they would keep open but, within a week or two of completing the deal, decided to close. This injustice perpetrated on such a devoted consumer of Cadbury goodies simply amplifies how poorly the company is now run.
