Check out the wonderful words of Marjorie Winslow on my new coaching blog. (The blog needs readers, so hope you will sign up for a double dose of Crone and coach writing.)Thanks to Susan Winslow for sharing this from her mom, and for letting me show it to you.

Leadership Coach DC

Marjorie Winslow wouldn’t have called it an elevator pitch, or a personal brand position. The author of Mudpies and Other Recipes, who died at the end of 2012, really knew who she was and what she stood for. Back in 1970, she wrote the update below for her college reunion. Not many of us can use words so well, but each of us can use Marjorie’s thoughtful, original and many layered approach to inform how we make ourselves known to others. Rethink your own professional bio, or online profile in the light of this:

In 25 years I have been a copywriter, a fashion editor, a housewife, a mother, an author, a corporation president, a free spirit, a sober citizen, a failure, a success.

In 25 years I have lost my parents, the sweet brief masks of youth, some misconceptions, a few illusions, sight of a goal or two.
