A Buck or Two for Jill’s Buddy Camp?

jillOne year ago, my friend lost his wife and his unborn daughter in a terrible accident at the ocean. (https://blarneycrone.com/2012/07/27/the-golden-boy-and-the-cruel-sea/).  The last year has brought me closer to Matt and made me very sorry I never met Jill– a wonderful teacher,  a supporter of anyone who finds fitting in a challenge, and someone who clearly had remarkable spirit, heart and character. Matt has his life–but not the life he expected. Facing the future is unspeakably hard. Matt helps himself by helping others–particularly, of course, the causes Jill cared about. Matt is working with Jill’s home community in Salem, North Carolina to raise money for a Buddy Camp–a summer getaway for developmentally challenged children.  Jill worked as a Buddy when she was a teenager and the camp has now been named to honor her memory. Matt wants to use his skills (he is a videographer, editor and producer) to make a video at this summer’s camp–both a fundraising tool and a momento for the children.  You can donate here.  I hope you will give something. Please also reblog this, and share the link with your own contacts. Those kids in Salem, Matt, and I will thank you.

Liz – I too am sorry you never met Jill… you share a great big smile, compassionate heart and love of laughter. Thank you so much for helping spread the word about Jill’s Buddy Camp, and for all the generous love and support you continue to offer.
